MUM’s recipes was launched in 2005 after a one night shift in the Simpson’s Maternity Unit in Edinburgh May 2005, Linda McDonald heard the stories and saw photographs of one of the worst maternity hospitals in Malawi. Babies dying daily, lying on a rack in a filthy sluice, and mothers were dying weekly due to lack of resources.
